We are commencing live country music club nights, ordinarily to be on the fourth Saturday of each month, at Aylsham Town Hall, NR11 6EL.
All club nights are 7:30 pm (doors at 7 pm) to 10:30 pm.

Hello and thank you for visiting our Aylsham page.
In the old days there were many country music venues and bands. Just over a year ago we commenced staging Monthly Live Country Music Nights at the Hellesdon Community Centre in Norwich, and from September we are also staging similar nights at Aylsham.
It is our belief that regular country music and informal dancing is needed and sorely missed. Musicians love to sing and play; and all people need and like to go out, to have a good time and enjoy themselves. So the vision which hopefully you can identify with, and fully share and support, is basically contained within these principles;
- There should be a monthly meet – with a "Club" community type "feel".
- An accessible friendly welcoming safe environment should await all – including for people who might live and want to come on their own (and who do not even know anybody there until they meet new friends) and for all those with their partners, their families, and friends.
- There should be performed "Live" Country Music. not people just singing along to karaoke backing tracks, played from their mobile phones; which many local country music events and festivals have perhaps become.
- There needs to be variety, and consistency, and active management to not become stale. A resident band with line-up variations, and invited guest slots will assit this. Together achieving an element of surprise, ongoing interest, enjoyment, and fun. There can be optional country music knowledge quizzes etc., so as to break down barriers, and to get people talking to each other.
- Pricing for admission should be fair, with "The Club" being a community and not for profit, covering its costs and expenses, while achieving and retaining a workable surplus to cover future unknowns, ups, and downs, but so as to also make donations to known and agreed charities from time to time.
- Attendees would probably much prefer to make their own arrangements as regards sourcing and bringing their own their food and drink. This being as opposed to bar spending adding not insignificantly to the cost of an evening out in these more pressing times. As a fallback teas and coffees could otherwise be available.
So we have, in principle, simple events driven by the people supporting and attending which can be provided and "staffed" by a minimal voluntary team – Not Events driven by the promoters' profit motive and need including expected necessary profit contributed from bar sales and product sales.

Is entry to these Country Music Nights by Ticket Only?
Yes – an Admission Ticket must be purchased and produced to gain entry.

Can I collect, or do I need to collect my tickets?
Tickets can be collected in person, from Mike Delph; or they can be held for you and they can be collected by you at the door on your arrival at the venue, on the night.
Is there a charge for children?
No, not if under 16; but children must be accompanied and supervised at all times, with a max of two children to one paying adult. Children's tickets will be needed, and issued, at £0 cost.
What is the format for the evening?
The band will start at 7.30 sharp, and will play two main sets, finishing at 10.15 pm. There will be a reasonable interval (at 9pm, for food etc) and with lower music levels of background music. Volume levels will be kept very reasonable at all times. There will also be other short / recovery breaks.
What is the likely dress standard?
Casual / Smart Dress. Hats (stetsons and similar) are very much invited. Footware to be fully respectful of the quality of the hall dance floor – soft-ish shoes for dancing, and no studded sole boots etc.
what about candles / lighting?
To be of LED and battery-type only, No live flames.
What about dancing?
This will be up to you, freestyle is very much encouraged; and there will be smooches and the like; but its also a night just to sit and listen to the music, and enjoy seeing others.
What will be the expected behaviour and standards?
A good friendly evening, respectful of all others at all times.
What about our empties and food rubbish?
Bags for collection, including recycling will be provided and circulated.
What about clearing up?
Please clear your table etc., at the end of the evening leaving things as you found them on your arrival and clear up any spillages etc, as you go. We will have suitable materials / equipment.
Will there be any raffle / fund raising?
We concentrate on a well programmed and run evening. Ordinarily there will be a raffle to support a chosen Registered Charity each month.
Resident band, plus occasional invited Guest Performers – what does this mean?
We will programme an evening which has some variety built in, as regards the musical sounds and vocals, and so it doesn't sound too samey, and keeps fresh over the months.
What do you mean by live music?
There will ordinarily be a lead singer / musician and three or more other musicians, including providing backing vocals (i.e., The Mustangs Country Band line-up). There wont ordinarily be any recorded backing tracks played, or karaoke type performances. Any other performers will be via invitation and negotiated formal agreement only.
Is this just a profit making venture for the organiser?
The objective is to have a regular event (say 10 times per year, meaning missing January, and August). Admission fees will be kept very reasonable. Hall hire, band (moderate fees) and expenses, obviously need to be covered. We need financials standing reasonably to cover occasional unknowns such as weather etc., but we will consider and we will look to recognise and donate money to one or more suitable local charities of good standing, and within the spectrum of attendee's interests, e.g such as Cancer, Air Ambulance etc. Our Hellesdon Nights have donated monies to Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity and East Anglian Children’s Hospices Charity.
Will there be able to be made promotional / commercial offerings or sales or announcements by people attending and / or performing?
No there is to be no drawing to the attention of attendees of any other event or activities, competitive or otherwise; and nothing is to be displayed and no material of any nature is to be provided or distributed other than as may be expressly permitted by the Event Organiser (Mike Delph).
Are there condition of sale terms, relating to tickets purchase and event attendance?
Yes, the terms are;
- If the Event is Cancelled, your Admission will be refunded in full. If details of the event are significantly changed – significant changes being if the event is moved from its advertised venue, or the date is changed, Tickets already purchased may remain valid should you wish to attend the revised event. If not, your booking will be refunded in full.

- Tickets cannot be exchanged, refunded or replaced if lost. In any circumstance where an exchange or refund is desired, you should contact mike delph directly as he may at his sole discretion agree to your wishes.
- Professional photography or recording is not permitted.
- By attending the event, you consent to be filmed and sound recorded as part of the audience.
- You shall not bring into the venue or display or distribute (whether for free or not) at the event any sponsorship, promotional or marketing materials.
- If you are involved with abusive, threatening, drunken or other anti social behaviour at the event or are carrying offensive weapons or illegal or prohibited substances you may be refused admission to or rejected from the venue without compensation or refund.
- If you experience problems during the event please bring this to the immediate attention of the door staff, or Mike Delph, as every effort will be made to resolve issues.
- Mike Delph will under no circumstance be responsible for any remedy for inconvenience, consequential expenses incurred, or any other loss or damages, resulting from this Event being staged, or resulting from its cancellation.

What do I need to do at the end of the evening?
Clear up your own table and any waste etc to waste bags provided. If you are physically able, provide general help clear tables and chairs etc, as directed, so as to enable all people to leave the building and site by the required 10.45pm lock-up time, then progressing home via whatever means in a safe and quiet manor respecting that the centre is within a residential / built-up area, and that people will have already gone to bed and be asleep.
What is the best way I can offer or provide any help on the evening?
There are a number of areas where you may be able to help us and the evenings, please do speak to Mike or the staff. Help could include such things as handing out printed material – like quiz sheets, or suggesting future popular country songs you'd like to hear, or performers that might be invited, or providing copies of photographs you may have taken, including selfies.
Is there scope for me providing comments at the end or after the night?
Yes there most certainly is. As you will appreciate we have only a very short time to clear up all our stuff from arranging and performing at these nights, and we can only talk to people on a very limited basis whilst doing so and vacating the building.
